Lord Mayor switches to electric vehicle

Oct 29, 2014   //   by Kim Alviar   //   New and Views  //  No Comments

Just last week we were talking about electric vehicles and it’s a coincidence that the Lord Mayor of Newcastle-upon-Tyne arrives in an electric car, leading a good example to the locals. It is believed that Councillor George Pattison is the first mayor in the UK to make the permanent swap from the petrol-fuelled car to the more environmentally friendly ‘2p per mile’ all electric car.

So if you ever spot the vehicle with its distinctive number plate: OBB1, that’ll be the Lord Mayor cruising around in his brand new energy efficient vehicle.

Thinking to make the switch too? You could benefit from the plug-in car grant – a Government scheme in which you could receive massive savings of up to £8000 for your new electric car or van.
